Belitung island called Pulau belitung is located in south east of Sumatera island.
This island is not much popular for holiday visitors.
It still keeps atmosphere of countryside, you will recognize after seeing local life of the people who live there.
I went here during Christmas holidays, to get outta damn smoky city Jakarta.
Of course, the place where I can do fishing is one of significant factor.
My wife found this out by google map, where near from Jakarta, where nice sea is available.
Before the blogging about fishing there,
I would like to instroduce a bit about belitung island for Non-Indonesian guys.
1, Transportation
I highly recommend you STREET TAXI which is legal trans provider who offers fixed rate.
To get on the local illegal taxi is a bit risky,
not only by unexpected money expenses, also by some incidents.

2, Hotel
To compare with Bali island, Phuket island,
accommodation cost is still reasonable and cheaper.
3 stars --- IDR 350.000 - 600,000 equivalent to USD 30 - 50
4 stars -- IDR 700,000 - 900,000 equivalent to USD 55 - 70
Above includes breakfast of 2 adults as NET price.
3, Air Flight
Garuda, Sriwijaya, CItylink are available from Jakarta Soekarno Hatta Airport.
Average return ticket IDR 1,000,000 / person depends on season you book.
